November 2011 update
The holidays are upon us. And that means more than just shopping and big dinners - it means free music as well!
Here are a few examples of what’s coming up…
Winter's Eve opens up the holiday season at Lincoln Square on Monday, November 28th with music, entertainment, food, the tree lighting and of course shopping! Highlights will include Arlo Guthrie at the tree lighting ceremony as well as the Klezmatics at the Dance Tent, Catherine Russell at the American Folk Art Museum, Dennis Lichtman's Brain Cloud in the Atrium at Lincoln Center and Christian McBride and Inside Straight at the Apple Store. plus Opera Collective, Select Blendz and much more, including marching bands. There will in-store events and lots of yummy food-tasting as well. There will be a coat drive, so you can do a good deed while having a good time!
The Big Kahuna of Christmas Tree Lightings is at Rockefeller Center, home of the Big Kahuna of Christmas Trees. This year will be no exception. The Wednesday, November 30th event will have a multitude of guests (some live, some recorded) including Tony Bennet, Justin Bieber, Faith Hill, Carole King and the Rockettes.
The World Financial Center hosts holiday events such as the Nutcracker on Tuesday, November 30th, Christmas in Ireland on Sunday, December 4th, the Brooklyn Youth Chorus on December 15th and the National Yiddish Theater on December 18th.
Plenty of other events, including South Street Seaport ... so, what are your favorite New York holiday events? Post them on our Facebook page and share them with your fellow FreeConcerts fans!
