Summer is (finally) just about here. And with summer comes FREE CONCERTS. Time to start thinking about what we have to look forward to!

Here is what we have in store for the summer of 2014:
  • Celebrate Brooklyn has now announced announced their full schedule, and it looks like another great summer in Brooklyn! A quick look shows highlights such as the Soul Rebels (June 7th with Jon Cleary and the Lost Bayou Ramblers), an amazing tribute to Ornette Coleman with an all-star cast on June 12th, Amos Lee (June 20th), Nickel Creek (July 24th) and St. Vincent (August 9th). The season opens on June 4th with Janelle Monae.
  • Central Park Summerstage has already announced their busy schedule of music, dance, comedy and more. The annual Charlie Parker Jazz Festival, is also included in the lineup, that covers the entire city!
  • River to River will run from June 19th to 29th - here is the schedule. Only ten days this year - but they do pack a lot of art, music and performance art into that short time!
  • Madison Square Park has announced their summer music schedule - runs June 18th to August 6th. Great music (including New Orleans-based Jon Cleary on July 23rd), plus the Shake Shake - what could be a better way of enjoying a Wednesday evening in New York?
  • Shakespeare in the Park opens June 6th, with Much Ado About Nothing, followed by King Lear opening on July 22nd (with John Lithgow as Lear).
  • Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors has its program up, and of course it is a doozy - including Roberta Flack (July 26th ) and the AmericanaFest, running August 6th to 10th with the likes of Emmylou Harris, Buddy Miller, Cassandra Wilson and Roseanne Cash.
